Great Deals of Freelance Outsourcing – Working from Home Advantages
While a lot of professionals are citing IT outsourcing companies as a potential arena for career and personal development, some prefer to work as freelancers. These educated, highly skilled individuals have chosen their own homes as a money-making ground.
The beauty of freelancing lies on the following advantages:
- You are the boss of your own company. When you are a freelancer, you are running your own company. There is nothing to worry about superiors or managers-subordinates issues . When you take a freelancing jobs, you are the boss and every decision on whether you accept the deals presented by your clients solely depends on you.
- The working hour advantage. As compared to working in a company, working as a freelancer has a working hour advantage as you can work more than the regular office working hours. Most freelancers I have talked to have said that they can accommodate 2 clients on regular employment and 4 clients on part-time employment per day, daily. This just means better income. Aside from that, there is nothing to worry about being late or stuck in heavy traffic.
- Flexibility of time. In office working set-up, you are obliged to render 8 hours particularly when you are a regular employee. In online freelancing jobs however, you can decide on whether to take a part-time or full-time jobs. That is the reason why a lot of freelancer can accept up to 2 to 4 clients per day.
- Better compensation. When you are employed in an IT outsourcing company, you just can receive a salary minus deductions. When you are working as a freelancer, you get what your clients give. I have known certain companies that slash up to 50% of the payments for the services rendered by their employees. This scenario is avoided when freelancing.
- Wide array of learning. When you are freelancing, you are exposed to a wide array of tasks – from writing to programming; web design to web development; from virtual support to transcribing. This just means, you can learn a wide variety of skills – it develops your career and it also develops your personal being.
Of course there are still disadvantages that surround in freelancing and this can include the following:
- Not being able to experience the privileges that office employees are benefiting. When you are working in a company, you are given lots of privileges. These can include financial loans, medical assistance, sick leaves, vacation leaves, holiday privilege and a lot more that freelancers are not able to experience (at least, in most times) of their freelancing career.
- The subscribe and run scenario. There are clients ( which cannot be avoided) that subscribe for a service and run after. But anyway, there is nothing to be so worried about it as there are lots of clients who are really sincere and pay their obligations.
The disadvantages I presented above are things that should not be worried so much. Believe me, I been freelancing for years. With the amount you can generate from freelancing, the benefits that you are supposed to be getting when you are employed in outsourcing company is nothing compared to your income.
And, to handle the ‘subscribe and run‘ scenario, just build your reputation online. When you have built your reputation online, you can get clients that are legitimate and receive what is due to you and your rendered service.

I agree! I have been a freelancer myself, and surprisingly I was able to survive, save a bit, and enjoy my work than when I was still working for an IT outsourcing company. Same job, same tasks but the company will only give 1/2 or only 1/4 of what they had asked from the client.
