Our company received another request for assessment for an affiliate marketing website. Yes, our company offers free Adwords advertising consultation and website optimization assessment.

I am posting this topic because, for sure, this will also be useful most especially for those individuals and businesses who wish to harness the power of pay-per-click advertising for their business success.

Below is the juice of the site assessment I just finished and sent to client…

The Importance of Landing Page Optimization ( the page/web page where your potential customers are directed after clicking your Ads).

You can increase landing page conversion rate by considering the following:

  • Whether you are promoting products or services, it is imperative to present them in such a way they are highly accessible by your website visitors. In other words, it is better to make a banner on your page that is linked to the actual purchase site than just providing a keyword or key-phrase links. Easy website (Product) navigation is very important in AdWords Advertising.
  • It is recommended to put your product or service banner ( usually an image with description and prices) above the fold. Meaning, it should be visible to your website visitors even without scrolling the page. It has been proven through studies that majority of website users do not like to scroll the page – and they walk away.
  • Your landing page ( the destination page you use in your AdWords ads) should bear the promises written in your ads. In other words, if your ads offer ‘wrinkle cream’ product, it is expected that the page where your potential clients are directed has the product ‘wrinkle cream’ and it should be detailed.
  • The importance of keywords visibility. Your landing page should have the keywords you exactly ( or close to ) the keyword or phrase you use in your AdWords ads. Clients are visual in nature. That means, when they don’t see content on your page that is relevant to what they read on your ad, they navigate away your page.

Above are necessary things to do for your landing page optimization. However, these are just a tip of the iceberg. When you decide to commence product promotion through Adwords Advertising campaign, you have to learn more AdWords strategies necessary to succeed. Thus, you will also need to know the step-by-step process involved in this advertising program.

Blogging Tips from Experts

To be honest, I am not successful yet in blogging as this blog is just new ( hopefully, we’ll get there). What I am actually sharing in this post are some blogging tips from well-known successful bloggers like John Chow.

Well, I am not absolutely sure if the ideas they’ve shared are all catalysts why they are earning $50K ( more or less) a month in blogging. But, as I have checked their websites’ traffic, I would say that their blog earnings are realistic.

Here are some tips for blogs – for blogging success, according to them. I share to you what I have learned from them:

  1. Regular Updates. Regular updates are necessary most especially when you are just starting. According to John Chow, nothing kills the blog faster than lack of updates. There is a need for you to fulfill your commitment in blogging. Whether you set the blog posting frequency as 1 post per week or 10 posts per day – you must do it as scheduled. And you must do it right. A non-updated blog is a dead blog.
  2. Blogging should not just be income centered. If you blog only for the sake of making money, then you will fail. Remember, readers read blog in search for useful information and that you need to make an effort to right useful information in your chosen niche. Post useful, unique, and substantial contents – the rest will follow.
  3. Be Personal. According to many blogging experts. Blogs are more effective when their contents are written with personal touch. So, instead of posting content like that of CNN and other big websites, you need to make your posting more personal. Your readers need your opinion.
  4. Be unique. If you want to stand out, strive to make your site unique. What do we mean by this? Yes, there may be a lot of bloggers discussing the same topic but you can still make it unique by applying techniques that, perhaps, can be done only by you.
  5. Replying to Comments. Many bloggers forget that blogging is a two-way communication tool. When readers post comments make it sure that you are able to answer them most specially those interrogative comments. By answering questions or by simply thanking them for spending a time to comment is something that matters a lot in building your online reputation and friendship.
  6. Write not just for Google but for People. Lots of bloggers are anxious about what keywords could rank their posts on top of Google. Mind you, Google follows people. Maybe your post is optimized in terms of content but, is it optimized in terms of readers usability? You should realize that keyword- optimized is not always content-optimized. Make sure to make your content written for readers not just for Google. Make it more substantial and with sense.

So, I think that would be all for now. I’ll be adding more as soon as I learned new tips for blogs and effective blogging.

A Global Outsourcing Guide: Client’s Attitude Towards His Remote Worker

Between the Two Same Jobs – Discover Why I Chose the One that Pays Less

I have been freelancing for years and with that span of time, though I am not earning quite big, I can say that I have been successful. But that is not exactly what I wanted to share…I wanted to share why between the two jobs – I have chosen the one that pays less. Sounds intriguing, isn’t it?

I was working remotely for a client based in the United Kingdom before. He was paying me $800/month for a regular working-hour set up (8 hours/day, 5 days a week). Yes, here in the Philippines, that earning is quite a fortune. But I quit the job. I dropped it and chose to work full-time for my client that is based in Belgium and I am still working for him until now – even if he is just paying me less than the amount I was earning from my former client. To be exact, the decision I made slashed out $300 from my earnings.

What’s the point of choosing the less-paying job? – you may ask.

To tell the truth, I made the decision of quitting after weighing all of the contributory factors. And with what I have now, I would say that I made the right decision.

What exactly triggered me to drop the job from my UK-based employer was his working attitude. I mean, even if the rate was okay, it did not matter to me ( not that much). His attitude as a corporate individual instigated my decision of quitting.

When I was working with him, he kept accusing me of not exhausting my time as scheduled – which is not true. I think that attitude should not prevail in the workforce environment particularly when outsourcing ( most especially when there’s no proof). When I was working with him I never missed tasks. Outputs don’t lie, right? If he was not satisfied the way I work And, you know what? With all the accusations he said to me, I wonder until now, why he tried to hold me back…to stay working with him?

Another is, throughout the time of my employment, many times he instructed me to do things which I believe not ethical – like spamming – to propel his online business. Perhaps there’s no specific concrete law that governs cases like that but, as an employee who values professional ethics and self-respect, I chose not to renew my working commitment with him.

Those were some instances I encountered while working with him – and yes, those were the drawbacks of working remotely, I admit.

At present, as I have said, I work for my Belgium-based client. Though I am just paid for less than what I was previously rated. I am quite satisfied. This new remote employer of mine possesses just exactly the opposite traits. He trusts me and he treats me professionally. Though he sometimes gives me projects that are pretty hard, he is always there to support me and let me solve the puzzling problems through my personal effort. With just that, I salute him and I am working to give what is best in me as workforce.

Working on the Internet gives you lots of opportunities but not all these chances can make you a better person. It is not just about money you earn. It is about you as a person. It is not just about the salary your employer gives. It is about how he gives importance to individuals who contribute a lot for his progress even if you are working remotely and don’t know him, personally.

Client’s attitude as employer determines how far he can go in nurturing his business with his employees…and how they see him and value him as person.
